SOCAR president participates in 27th “Oil & Gas of Turkmenistan – 2022” International Conference and Expo

Baku, October 27, AZERTAC Azerbaijani delegation led by SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf has visited Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan to participate in the 27th "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan - 2022" International Conference and Expo. Addressing the plenary session on the "Future of Energy - New Challenges and Opportunities", Rovshan Najaf highlighted the existing legal framework that creates the basis for the development of cooperation in various fields. He emphasized that the Memorandum of Understanding on joint exploration and development of the “Dostluq” hydrocarbon field opens up new opportunities for both countries in terms of beneficial cooperation in the oil and gas sector. SOCAR president said that the Southern Gas Corridor is of great importance not only for Azerbaijan, but also for the whole countries of the region. Noting that 32 million tons of Turkmenistan's oil has been exported to the world markets through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline (BTC) so far, Rovshan Najaf also highlighted SOCAR's multifaceted activities in the oil and gas sector, as well as its opportunities in the Caspian basin, and long-term strategic goals.
