QTEL Net Profit Up in First Nine Months

Doha, October 21 (QNA) - Qatar Telecom Co. (QTEL) said on Sunday its net profit in the first nine months of 2012 jumped to 2.4 billion riyals against 2.1 billions in the corresponding period of last year. A company press release said revenue per share in the first nine months of 2012 reached 8.34 riyals against 8.17 riyals in the same period last year paced by strong performance in Qatar, Iraq, Algeria and Palestine. QTEL's revenue for the first nine months of the year stood at 25 billion riyals against 23.6 billions in the corresponding period 2011 It said it will continue its investments in new technologies by launching its G3 service in Tunisia and the fourth experimental phase of LTE for the fourth generation in Qatar.
