Orlando, USA, April 06 (QNA) - The State of Qatar's pavilion , led by Qatar Development Exporting Agency "Tasdeer", the exporting arm of Qatar Development Bank (QDB), has concluded its successful participation in the largest exhibition of Plastic Products 2012, which was held in the Orlando City, Florida during the period of 01-05 April.
The value of deals which were agreed upon during the exhibition have totaled US DLRS. 5.5 million and these deals are expected to reach more than that in the future.
The owners of the Qatari companies participating in the Qatar pavilion during the exhibition were briefed on the latest techniques and the advanced technology used in plastics industry for the development of production lines in their factories in future.
Qatar pavilion comprised 13 company specialized in the plastics industry and they have been able to attract thousands of visitors including representatives of companies and businessmen and others interested in such an industry. These Qatari companies also succeeded to conclude a number of initial transactions which may open the door wide for their products to enter into the regional markets in general and the South American markets in particular.
It is worthy to mention that Qatar Development Bank and through Qatar Development Exporting Agency "Tasdeer is participating for the first time in the plastic industry exhibition 2012 in Orlando, U.S., where the exhibition is held every three years in the United States.
Qatar Development Bank (QDB) is a fully owned government financial entity set up in 1997 by an Emiri Decree to invest in and develop local industries by supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SME s) in Qatar. QDB realigned its strategy to that of Qatar National Vision 2030 to promote and facilitate the development and growth of SME s in core economic sectors that will result in long-term socio-economic benefits to the people of Qatar.
In addition to providing financial assistance, the banks other main focus is to provide advisory support and guidance to SME s on how to start up, grow and expand their activities, with the aim of developing a sustainable economy.
QDB launched Qatar Export Development Agency TASDEER in 2011, having the following objectives: To develop, support, and globally promote exports from Qatar and to provide Export Credit Cover and Financing products and services to mitigate national exporters risk.
In Tasdeer, we provide access to finance, credit insurance and advisory services for exporters and support businesses to develop their export capabilities through development and promotion. (QNA)
