Qatar Exchange Index Drops 131.29 Points This Week
Doha, December 27 (QNA) - Qatar Exchange index dropped 131.29 points (1.56%) this week when the bourse closed Thursday afternoon at 8,311.22 points.
Trading value this week QR 589,366,365.79 decreased by 11.78% compared to QR 668,061,400.46 last week.
The trading volume increased by 13.67% to reach 14,876,904 shares, as against 13,087,470 shares, while the number of transactions rose by 10.06%, to reach 10,052 transactions as compared to 9,133 transactions.
Market capitalization fell by 1.15% to reach QR 457,490,273,705.15 as compared to QR 462,807,670,440.70 at the end of previous week.
From the 42 listed companies 11 ended this week higher, while 30 fell and one company unchanged.
The QNB led traded value this week, accounted for 14.05% of the total traded value. The Masraf Al Rayan accounted for 13.41% and Industries Qatar ranked third accounted for 12.46%.
Banks and Financial Services sector led traded value this week accounting for 47.46% of the total traded value, followed by Industrials sector which accounted for 22.27%. The Consumer Goods and Services sector ranked third, accounted for 15.59% and Real Estate sector which accounted for 6.70%.
Banks and Financial Services sector led traded volume this week accounted for 43.93% of the total traded volume, followed by Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 16.25%. The Real Estate sector ranked third, accounted for 14.69% and Industrials sector with 10.39%.
Banks and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions during this week accounted for 41.14% of the total number of transactions. The Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 17.65%. The Industrials sector ranked third accounted for 14.78% and Real Estate sector accounted for 13.37%. (QNA)
