Petroiran Co. to develop Iran's joint Jofeir field

Azerbaijan, Baku, June 20/Trend M. Moezzi The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has turned over the Jofeir oilfield's development to the Petroiran Development Company. The first task for Petroiran, an NIOC subsidiary, will be to repair existing wells the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reports. Saeed Hafezi, Petroiran's managing director, said well repairs will be finished in a month. The company's biggest problem has been finding the six drilling platforms. Tow public announcements have been made for buying the platforms Petroiran needs, said Mr. Hafezi. Located in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, the Jofeir field sits on the border with Iraq and is one of Iran's joint oil and gas fields.
