International TransCaspian 2012 and Road and Traffic exhibitions begin in Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku, June 12 / Trend E.Ismayilov / This year, the International Transport, Transit and Logistics Exhibition, which takes place from June 13 to 15, increased in size by 25 percent, project official Orkhan Ahmedov told reporters on Tuesday. He said this year the exhibition hosts 70 companies from 15 countries. About 40 percent of the exhibition participants are represented by companies for the first time exhibiting their products and services. Along with Azerbaijan, the countries represented are Poland, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Germany, France, Italy, Georgia, Russia, Turkey, China, Latvia, the UAE, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. Ahmedov said that along with commercial companies all the main Government transport bodies and organisations in Azerbaijan will be telling exhibitors about their plans from their stands, including the Ministry of Transport, Azerbaijan State Railways, the State Caspian Shipping Company, and the State Road Transport Service. The exhibition will continue until June 15. Road and Traffic also starts from June 13 at Baku Expo Centre. Ahmedov said Road and Traffic 2012 brought together 50 companies from 12 countries worldwide. The continuous growth of a variety of projects in infrastructure and transportation in Azerbaijan attracts major companies. The event is a specialised exhibition presenting the entire range of the region's road infrastructure. It is divided into thematic expositions, encompassing all sections of the road infrastructure, including road safety, public transport, road infrastructure, new technologies in the field of road surfaces, in particular types of sound-absorbing asphalt and cold types of coatings, recent advances in the field of parking systems, intelligent transport management systems, control devices and computers for drivers, as well as automatic fare collection system.
