Future Leaders Learn From IT Industry Experts
Doha, November 11 (QNA) - Candidates from the Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC) learnt key lessons from information and communications technology experts at a Future Leaders Programme that concluded here Sunday.
Top executives from Microsoft and ICTQatar shared their experiences in the industry with the attendees of the programme titled 'Leaders Teaching Leaders Session' of the Current and Future Leaders initiative.
The candidates interacted with Microsoft International Corporate Vice President Ali Faramawy and participated in a local study tour to ictQatar hosted by Secretary General Dr. Hessa Al Jaber.
Microsoft International Corporate Vice President Ali Faramawy shared his long-term strategic role with the software giant, his extensive corporate background and how he is helping shape the future of Microsoft in the Middle East and Africa to over 30 programme candidates at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
Dr. Hessa Al Jaber outlined the role of ictQATAR within the national ICT framework, the strategic direction and future plans of the organisation with an emphasis on how ictQATAR will help drive and enhance e-Government initiatives and services across the country at the second session hosted by her.
QLC Executive Director and Board Member HE Sheikh Dr Abdulla Bin Ali Al Thani said, "As key leaders within the regional ICT community, Dr. Al Jaber and Mr Faramawy offer our candidates a strategic outlook and perspective that is critical to their advancement."
Strategy and Performance Director Khaled El Gohary said, "Information and communications technology represents one of the core focus areas in the drive towards 2030. ICT remains directly tied to the drive towards a diversified, sustainable, knowledge based economy. With continued large-scale investment, training and education, our candidates will be centrally placed to help achieve this vision."
The meeting and study trip were organised as part of QLC's Current and Future Leaders programme offering participants the opportunity to meet leading figures from a variety of industries.
The sessions also gave candidates the opportunity to understand how different organisations in Qatar operate and see how they are contributing to the Qatar National Vision 2030.
As part of the programme, candidates will meet with industry leaders from oil and gas, education, government, healthcare, telecoms and the ICT community. (QNA)
