Al Rayyan Football Club Wins Sheikh Jassim Cup

Doha, August 14 (QNA) - Al Rayyan Football Club were crowned the champions of the Sheikh Jassim Cup Tuesday after defeating Al Sadd 1-nil. The win is the third in the club's history, after they won the title in 1992 and 2000. Jar Allah Al Merri scored the only goal in the 49th minute in a closely contested match. The final was played in Aspire's Indoor Stadium. Al Sadd missed a chance to equalize in the 85th minute after Nilmar missed from the penalty spot. Qatar Football Association's Secretary-General Soud A Muhannadi handed out the trophies to the winners. (QNA)
